If your TAG utility was not published in this edition please contact me at Dirty Deeds Downloads (See above). Generally I will include all the utilites that I can find on A*R*T*H*U*R (1:120/120) or The Black Hole (1:120/36) both TAG Alpha sites. I have left out some utilities from the list because they became outdated by the new release of T.A.G. or did nothing that couldn't be done equally or better with another utility. Many of the files detailed here can be Freq'd from any of the three BBSs mentioned. I have completly re-done the list from the past two versions and I think most of the changes that I made are improvments. If you have any suggestions let me know. I will try to maintain this listing, but due to the large number of TAG utilities released each day I cannot guarantee that your utility will be included. I also cannont guarantee any of the files included in this listing will operate as stated and I except no responsibility for any damage they may cause. As with all programs you download, be careful and keep a backup handy. Note: All files listed should work with Tag v2.6 / as a general rule file section utilites and general operation utilities will be compatible with earlier versions, but due to the complete overhaul of the message section in TAG v2.6 most message area utilities will not. ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Key to listing ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Filename : File name of the latest release version of the program. Extensions are listed as xxx because archiving methods vary from BBS to BBS and from region to region. Description : Short description of the programs use. Author(s) : Real name of the author but alternatively the handle of the author where the real name was not available. Support(s) : BBS Support sites, all phone numbers are BBS data lines, where possible the fido address and name of the BBS were also given. Obviously BBSs come and go so none of this information is guaranteed to be correct at this time. Operation : The operation of the utility as determined by personal testing or through the documentation. Where possible I tested the utility but due to time and feasibility constraints all of the files could not be tested. This door is well thought out and allows you to configure it to only make calls to certain extensions. It optionally creates lists of kids (under 18), adults (over 18), and all users with there ages. It also allows you to enter any age range such as 4 - 14. Allows you to sort the list or to reformat it in the jcm format. Works excellently for part time BBSs. ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Filename : CLOG-30.xxx Description : Creates a log of callers seperate from TAGs CALLERS.LOG Author(s) : Jeff Ringo Board(s) : Anonymous Plauge BBS (1:129/154) 412/653-4711 Operation : Run it in your Logon.bat and it creates a CALLS.LOG file with a list of all the days callers. According to the author T.A.G. has a nasty habit of not recording callers that hang up early. ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Filename : COMSTAT1.xxx Description : Give a listing and graph of the types of computers of users Author(s) : David Behnke Boards(s) : Space Dock (1:120/160) 313/795-9277 Operation : Works nicely, make a bulletin or for personal sysop reference. ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Filename : CVTFILE.xxx Description : Convert's Telegard .dir files to T.A.G. .dir files Author(s) : CyberWare Board(s) : GridPoint Systems - 508/285-2715 or The Font - 617/288-2597 Operation : Converts Telegard directory files to T.A.G. directory files and works as far as I tested. Ofcourse it has to truncate the telegard verbose descriptions, but that's due to the differing structures. ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Filename : DCQWK1-1.xxx Description : QWK Mail packing door - RA and Fido message support Author(s) : Daniel Corbeau Support(s) : (1:167/115) 514/425-2276 Operation : This seems to be the first offline mail packer designed to directly interface with TAG v2.6. It took very little work to setup, and is relatively easy to use. Searches for partial name strings very quickly. Allows quick comparison of possible duplicate accounts. ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Filename : DDM21.xxx Description : Performs daily door maitenance without using events Author(s) : Brian Kelley Board(s) : Turbo Homebrew BBSystem 803/524-5655 Operation : When a user enters a door it checks to see if maitenance has been run for that day, if not it runs maitenance and then loads the door. Author(s) : Ronnie Harmeyer Board(s) : The Domain BBS 713/440-4217 Operation : [NOT TESTED] - I didn't test this one but I know of alot of people that have gotten it to work. It essentially allows you to run two BBSs in one. It can pick from an unlimited list and will write up to 26 different file names. ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Filename : FIX10.xxx Description : Fixes user accounts that TAG has runtime errors on Author(s) : Peter Yao Board(s) : The BBS at the End of the Universe (1:2606/513) 201/884-2795 Operation : If you have corrupted user accounts that T.A.G. halts with runtime errors on when you try to edit or delete them this program will help you. It copies account #2 over the garbage account so you can go into the user editor and delete it. ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Filename : FLAGBINK.xxx Description : Toggles the Binkley flag in tag on and off from an EXE file Author(s) : Robert Numerick Board(s) : N/A Operation : [NOT TESTED] - This program is used to change the system status to use Binkley for a front end. Or to toggle it off. You can call it from a T.A.G. event to toggle Binkley on before the national mail hour, then call it again from a Binkley event after the national mail hour to turn the front end off again. ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Filename : GAMBLE1.xxx Description : Gambling and upload credit to time conversion door Author(s) : W. Directory files Author(s) : Dennis DeDonatis Board(s) : The Matrix Tower 313/771-1601 Operation : Inserts the dimensions of GIF files into the T.A.G. directory files. It will save you hard drive a little work and speed up file listings. ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Filename : GRAPH.xxx Description : Makes a graph of the percent activty by the hour Author(s) : Enterprise Board(s) : The Disk Box 313/286-5977 Operation : Works quickly and is easy to set up. Searches SYSOP?.LOG <configurable> and determines the activity for each hour of the day, then makes a nice little graph. It will show your users the best times to call. ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Filename : HANGUP11.xxx Description : Warns/Punishes users that improperly hangup from the system Author(s) : Peter Yao Board(s) : The BBS at the End of the Universe (1:2606/513) 201/884-2795 Operation : Searches SYSOP1.LOG and logs all users that improperly disconnected from the system. Then optionally warns them by sending a configurable message to USER#.MSG and/or adjusts their SL/DSL to levels that you set. ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Filename : HAT12.xxx Description : Tag .DIR file interface for HATCH.EXE / File networking Author(s) : Peter Yao Board(s) : The BBS at the End of the Universe (1:2606/513) 201/884-2795 Operation : [NOT TESTED] - This is an interface for HATCH.EXE to hatch a file from TAG's .DIR to send over the network. ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Filename : HIDEME_2.xxx Description : Removes up to three users from CALLERS.LOG and LASTON.DAT Author(s) : Mark McKay Boards(s) : The Playworld BBS (1:271/22) 1-804-499-5150 Operation : Nice little utility that removes up to three user names from the CALLERS.LOG and LASTON.DAT files. Users will not be able to see that you just logged on so they won't be mad when the chat call is off. Also adds ctrl-p color codes to the CALLERS.LOG. ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Filename : LOGMAKE.xxx Description : TAG logs -> QuickBBS/RA logs for use with registered QuickEd Author(s) : Peter Clark and Matthew Pearson Board(s) : The Font 617/288-2597 GridPoint Systems 508/285-2715 Operation : [NOT TESTED] - Apparently QuickEd reads the log file to see who is using it. This program converts the T.A.G. logs to the neccessary QuickBBS/RA logs so that you can take advantage of some of the features of registered QuickEd. ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Filename : MSGFD21B.xxx Description : Searches Fido & QBBS/RA style bases for messages to you Author(s) : Rick Cooper Board(s) : Just For The Heck Of It II (1:236/16) 219/747-5871 Operation : [NOT TESTED] - Searches both Fido & QBBS/RA style bases for messages addressed to the current users handle or real name taking into account SL and AR Flag restrictions. New versions are released regularly so the file name could be MSGFD##B.xxx with ## equaling anything over 20. ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Filename : MATCH13.xxx Description : Searches for matching users Author(s) : Peter Yao Board(s) : The BBS at the End of the Universe (1:2606/513) 201/884-2795 Operation : Outputs duplicate info of users. It currently matches real name, phone number, birthday, and password. The output is named MATCH.OUT. ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Filename : MBUTIL.xxx Description : QuickBBS/RA Message Base utility Author(s) : Gerard van der Land Board(s) : The Arena (2:282/220) Operation : Use this to maintain/purge/sort/link your QBBS/RA style message areas. ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Filename : MC10B.xxx Description : Copy T.A.G. Menu(s) Author(s) : Starbase Software Board(s) : Starbase 30-A BBS (1:269/609) 908/972-6980 Operation : [NOT TESTED] - Copy T.A.G. menu(s) (adds them as the last menu #.) I suppose this might come in handy sometime. ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Filename : MLIST20.xxx Description : Powerful and Flexible user lister Author(s) : Eric Harvey Board(s) : Just For Fun BBS (1:264/610) 804/793-6094 Operation : This is the most flexible user lister I have seen. It allows you to create a text file containing the information you choose for a group of users that choose. Among others it allows you to limit by SL, AR Flags, Days since last on, and whether they are in your local calling area or whether they are long distance. Once you choose what group of users to list you have to choose what info to list for those users. This program allows you to list most of the user fields, in any order you want, on one or multiple lines. If this wasn't enough, it's fast. ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Filename : MONTH.xxx Description : Renames usage.log and archives it monthly Author(s) : Tim Mallery Board(s) : The Linkup 607/433-2313 Operation : [NOT TESTED] - This program should be used in conjunction with a batch file to create monthly usage.log files. All it does is rename the USAGE.LOG file to mmmyy.LOG on the first of each month. It will allow you to archive your old USAGE.LOGs by the month for later reference. ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Filename : MRSYSP11.xxx Description : A command.com replacment for use remotely by co-sysops Author(s) : Kelly Drown Board(s) : (1:170/400) Tulsa Ok. 234-8261 Operation : [NOT TESTED] - MrSysop runs your DOS environment when a caller or co-sysop is on line and at your DOS level. It replaces your command.com by simulating your DOS environment and allowing you full control over what the user can and can't do. It not only dis-allows the commands of your choice from being executed, but you can protect certain files from being accessed in any way, and protect any drive or directory on your hard drive from being accesed by the caller.
